The Disappointment
Just like the good 'ol Malay saying "dah jatuh ditimpa tangga". I mean the weekend sucks! Last sabtuday I had a football friendly match at Panasonic, Shah Alam and guess who lost? MyTeam. I arrived late for the match because I conveniently forgot about the match. I only realized it half an hour before the kick-off and it took me almost an hour to reach the sports complex. Luckily, the score was still at a deadlock 0-0. But when I played in the second half things started to turn for the worst. My passing was sloppy and I made a few defensive errors that led to a goal.
Later that night, I had a futsal session with my buddies at Ampang. We were short on players - 9 to be exact. So, we had no choice but to play with a handicap. I was playing for the handicapped team. With no goalkeeper we conceded a lot of goals. So many goals went in I lost count. The day was topped off with all Man Utd rivals picking up a win on their opening day of the BPL. I was confident that United would cruise to victory against Newcastle.
Sunday came and I was frustrated with the way United played. They were good in the first half except for the moment when they gave away an easy goal to Martins. Luckily, Taylor picked up a knock prior to the goal and United capitalized on that when Fletcher drifted in from the right and slotted in the equalizer a minute after the restart. But they couldn't add to that. They were struggling to pick out the final ball. Credit to Given for making some big saves for Newcastle.
It's early days. Hopefully United will bounce back like the champions they are and kick-start their campaign at Portsmouth next week.

Gunung Senyum
From 4th to 7th of May I went to Gunung Senyum. I've just finished my exam in the morning and went straight to Jengka, Pahang that night. Fifty-two UNITAR students also joined in the fun. It took the bus about 4 hours to reach the destination. We arrived at the camp site around mid night. With our sleepy heads we had to set up camp. Luckily we were aided by sidewalk lights. The facilities were quite good. There's 2 male/female toilets, a surau, 2 kitchens and a few others that I couldn't remember.
Day 1 started a little slow for us. Everyone were still "hungover" from last night. We started off with breakfast (rice+sardin). Before we started our journey to the first half of caves in Gunung Senyum we had a warm up session and some briefing from the guide. Our journey started with trekking through an oil palm plantation. After about 30 minutes of walking through the oil palm plantation we arrived at the first cave (which I conveniently forgot the name). We visited about 5 or 6 caves on the first day. All that i could remember was the breathtaking rock formation (stalactite & stalagmite) and the bat cave (I was truly in awe in there).
On Day 2, we visited the other half of the caves in Gunung Senyum. We went through a quite thick rainforest called Jebak Puyoh. It took about an hour to navigate through the trail. The highlight of the day was the total darkness cave where we sat in a small area of the cave in total darkness for about 3 minutes. Besides that, we had lunch with a front seat view of a beautiful lake. The water was so clear and clean with hungry little fishes swimming in it.
We said goodbye to Gunung Senyum on Day 3 and was on our way to the Deerland and Kuala Gandah to experience a close encounter with Honey Bears, deers, a hedgehog, a monkey and elephants. It was an exhilarating feeling to touch and feed the wild animals especially the bears which are notoriously known for its fierceness.

a rush of blood to the head
i was never this anxious and elated at the same time since 1999. United were the champions of Europe that time. and we all know what happened on that glorious night. Scholes who missed that match through suspension made sure United went through to Moscow with a 25-yard screamer. Valdes was left picking up the ball from his own net after 14 minutes in the game. this was Scholes' first goal of the season and what better time and occasion to score it. the goal will go down as the goal of the tournament if you ask me. all in all, the result means that for the first time in UEFA Champions League history, an all English final will be held in Moscow. United will be waiting for their opponents, either Liverpool or Chelsea. and i'm sure we will be treated with a full flowing attacking football.
